Carroll Celentano, MS, CNM graduated from Boston College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She attended New York Medical College where she earned her Masters of Science. Shortly thereafter, she completed her studies and certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (C.N.M). She began her medical career at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health as an Instructor for the Nurse-Midwifery Program in September of 1977 in the Department of Maternal and Child Health Administration - Clinical and Academic Teaching.

Over the next ten years, she progressed from Nurse-Midwife in the Cervical Cancer Screening Program to Clinical Nurse Midwife within University Services in Johns Hopkins Internal Medicine Faculty Practice.

In July of 1988, Carroll Celentano joined the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics as a Clinical Associate at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
