Catherine A. Sewell, M.D., M.P.H.
Interim Director, Fibroid Center at Greenspring Station
Catherine A. Sewell, M.D., M.P.H. joins the Division of Gynecologic Specialties as an assistant professor and interim director of The Johns Hopkins Uterine Fibroid Center. Dr. Sewell received her undergraduate degree with Honors from Swarthmore College in 1989 and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. She completed her residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1998 and received a Master of Public Health degree with Honors from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2000. After serving on the faculty in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Johns Hopkins for three years, she joined the faculty at the Thomas Jefferson University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she was the medical director of the Jefferson Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates Clinic, coordinating the clinical care of patients and administrating the grants funding that care.
Dr. Sewell’s interests include: fibroids, STD/HIV, contraception, adolescence, and menopause, and minimally invasive surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
