Shama Jari, M.D.
A native of Michigan and a graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Jari received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. She subsequently came to Johns Hopkins Hospital to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. At the completion of her residency, she went on to a fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Jari joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2002, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Genetics, a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics.
Dr. Jari's interests include fetal ultrasound abnormalities, genetic conditions, abnormal maternal serum screening, and prenatal diagnosis. She performs a full range of prenatal diagnostic procedures, including obstetric ultrasound, Doppler studies, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling (CVS).
Dr. Jari sees patients for ultrasound and ultrasound-related consultations in the Prenatal Diagnosis and Treatment Center at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her outpatient Gynecology and Obstetric practice, including general Gynecology and Obstetrics practice and Genetics consultations, is at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins at White Marsh outpatient site.
