Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility
 Jairo E. Garcia, M.D.Associate Professor of Gynecology Jairo E. Garcia, M. D. is the Director of the IVF Program at the Johns Hopkins Fertility Center. Dr. Garcia completed his post-doctoral fellowship in reproductive endocrinology under the mentorship of the world-famous Dr. Georgeanna Seegar Jones and Dr. Howard W. Jones, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In 1979 Dr. Garcia joined the pioneer team with the Doctors Jones at the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia to develop the first IVF clinic in the United States. The research and clinical applications were conducive to the first successful IVF pregnancy in the United States. During the past 20 years, Dr. Garcia has been dedicated to developing different ovulation induction protocols for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) and other related procedures, and is a world-renowned expert in the field. He has authored several book chapters on ovulation induction, and has published over 120 articles concerning the field of ART. He has also been a featured speaker on numerous television and radio shows regarding infertility, and is medical consultant to a variety of media. Professionally, Dr. Garcia is a past president of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), and currently is the SART Executive Council's international liaison for the International Association of In Vitro Fertilization and Assisted Reproduction. He has also been the Post Graduate Course Chairman at the 16th World Congress on Fertility and Sterility, and the 54th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Garcia's outpatient practice is at Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station. |
